Chill Pill

I'm pretty sure everyone's been there. Sleepless nights and weariness, with only the sound of the P.A. system blasting across the hospital rooms and hallways to keep you company. I know I said on the blog's Facebook wall that I'll be M.I.A. for awhile but I couldn't resist to sneak in a little Chill Pill in between taking naps in the hospital. It's all that my brain can muster right now so bear with me as I take a quick hiatus from the blogosphere.

I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding, as you all know that I always like to share my own personal thoughts and experiences in this blog but I cannot expound more on this part of my personal life since it involves the privacy of those who are dearest to me.

For now, here's a list of what I've been listening to, to drown out the beeping and humming of machines and Code Grey's.

Chill Pill: Memorial Weekend

It's the Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S. so everyone is out and about, snagging deals at the mall, hanging out with friends and family, and having a jolly good time. I am not an American by blood but it's still good to be able to recognize the real reason for this holiday, that people have sacrificed themselves to keep their loved ones back home and an entire nation safe. 

Thank you to those who selflessly serve for their country, no matter where you are, this Chill Pill is for you!

I'm sure everyone's got the mid-week blues but we all gotta get up on our hineys to make a living. Getting up at 4AM then sleeping early to get up at 4AM again, doing mundane errands, carrying the grocery bags on your own, keeping up with all the bills, nursing your own self from the flu, dealing with grumpy, rude and mean people in random places like the checkout counter or the gas station, managing your finances...ain't it fun living in the real world?

Well what do you know? It's the weekend again! Sorry I've been away from my laptop for the past couple of days but I promise I'll post something more interesting soon. So for now, turn up the volume and get ready to chill with me =)

Feist - Sea Lion Woman (Pitto Bootleg) Sounds so catwalk-y doesn't it? Sashey, Shante! Just in case you're wondering, Nina Simone has her own soulful rendition (not sure if this is really her original song) called See Line Woman.

The Killers- All These Things That I've Done Brandon Flowers looks totally way different than in this old video! He has cleaned up very well, he shaved off the silly mustache and ditched the eyeliner. Well done, cutie!

Robyn- Dream On Robyn's got some great lyrics for a pop singer, I love her choice of melodies and beats. And if my face wasn't too round, I would have sported that edgy haircut as well.

Enur feat. Natasja - Calabria Remind me to slather myself with tubs of cooking oil when I get toned like these girls in the music video! Tee-hee!

Muse - Starlight Hold you in my arrrmmmssss, I just wanted to hold you iiinn myyy arrrmmsss. I love this band, just as much as The Killers. If you saw an Asian bobbin' her head on a Cathay Pacific flight, that could have been me listening to Muse =)

Chill Pill : My Rock

I think I was really meant to be born as a dude. Back then, I remember I used to mimic my brother (yep, the big guy who used to stand outside my house, waiting for me to come home from bar-hopping with friends ), even his taste in music. The fact that the boyfriend and I share a similar appreciation of music, especially alternative rock, made me all giddy when we were just barely starting to date each other. He even took advantage of the moment and eagerly showed me that he was quite an experienced drummer...touche, Miguel, touche. 

Anyway, here are some of my fave rock bands from back in the 90's...

Aside from the fact that I'm a little bit disappointed about Phelps getting the silver in his signature race (200-meter butterfly), I had a bad day at work as well. Sometimes it's better to just chill and kick back..relax. I don't want to stress you folks out there with all the bad, and even the good news. I feel like I talk too much sometimes..it gets exhausting, really. Do me a favor and put on your headphones, and come away with me. Sometimes it's just better to listen.
