Fashion 5-0: The Untouchables

Pears
There really isn't any strict rule on how you should dress up, as long as what you wear compliments your body and it reflects your own personality. But there are fashion trends that I just can't seem to understand or just plainly make me cringe, so here is my very own list of fashion pet peeves a.k.a. the untouchables. I know there are a lot of you out there that probably have these items in your wardrobe so just hear me out and we'll call it a day, shall we?

UGG Boots
I know "hate" is a heavy word so I'm just going to use other words for this... thing they refer to as "boots". I abhor, despise, reject, extremely dislike "Uggs". If you are not around snow or in a place with really cold climate, then you don't have any business trotting around with these shapeless boots of abomination. It doesn't do anything good with the silhouette of your legs because it's puffy and it eats most of your lower leg. Unless you're a long-legged Brazilian model then you can disregard this. I cannot stand people wearing short skirts/ shorts on a hot day and then they pair it up with these boots. I really don't get it. Please explain and I will try to listen with a loaded gun in my hand.

Cheeky Shorts
This has got to be one of the more disturbing trends that I've ever seen. Cheeky shorts are just plain inappropriate. They're called cheeky by the fact that these shorts partially show the cheeks of one's buttocks. That's just... disturbing. If it were for a male counterpart, it would be like a man wearing a pair of shorts with his testicles hanging out. I'm sorry if you got a nasty visual on that but it is what it is.

Unless you want to be just like Miley Cyrus....(she's got a rockin' bod though, thanks to Pilates)

Velour Tracksuits
I actually bought a set from Juicy when it was all trendy about 8 years ago, but I never wore them outside the gym. I know they call it the "fashion" tracksuits but guess what? They're still tracksuits! Unless you're an athlete, you should never be caught dead wearing gym clothes roaming around the mall, restaurants, etc. You might as well wear Sponge Bob pajamas while you're at it. Consider these tracksuits as REALLY casual attire, like something you would wear while lounging around the house or doing house chores.

Pocahontas Head Band
C'mon. C'monnnnnnnnnnnnn. Really? These so-called headbands don't even have a proper function. Why, oh why.

My only advice to you, my friends, is to take caution when it comes to following trends and apply common sense when it comes to wearing things that shouldn't be worn in normal circumstances. Like wearing knee-high boots and leather jackets in a tropical country, or wearing track suits to go out on a lunch date. Okay? Okay!

Toodles! =)

    2. i so agree about that coach bag w/ CCCCC all over it! The more people I see using those kind of designs the lesser "classy"(for the lack of a better word) it would look

    3. I see a lot of 10-year-old kids wear the CCCCCCC bags. The ones I cannot take honestly are the sneaker shoes that they made with the CCCCCCCC. hahaha
