Sephora: My Stash

Pears Be the first to comment!
For the past couple of years, Sephora has been offering a pretty cool deal just before Thanksgiving. They hold a special event for their members and take 20% off on any purchase in-store or online. Seems just like a normal discount, right?! Wrong! You see, Sephora carries the high-end brands like YSL, Dior, Guerlain, etc. so this means you get 20% off on all these high-end brands too! You don't even see this kind of promo in Saks or Bergdorf's (they usually give u a nice free gift with purchase but rarely a discount).

On the final day of the event, I went in hoping to get a lipstick or two but the boyfriend is too much of an effective cheerleader that I ended up getting more than I came in for. It's pretty easy, really--- He finds somewhere to sit, I go back and forth and show him different shades of lipsticks or cheek blushes or eye shadows and he says YES, NO, or I can't tell the difference (can't blame him for being a guy!).

I got most of these things in-store, especially the lipsticks, 'coz you're pretty much playing Russian Roulette if you buy any make-up without trying it out. Anyhoo, here's my stash:

Make Up For Ever Studio Case with 12 eye shadows, a black eye liner and a step-by-step guide (which I probably can't follow just 'coz I suck at doing eye make-up)

Fresh Dare to Bare Sugar Lip Ritual My lips chap so easily and I've always heard great things about Fresh's lip care line so it's great that they came out with a set so I can try them all. Sets are usually a good buy too, since most brands slash the prices compared to buying the products piece by piece. Check the sticker on the upper right of the photo below, the set is valued at $59 but sold at $45. That's an instant $15 dollar savings!

Dior Top Coat Gel and Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Stone Jungle The Marc Jacobs nail lacquers are definitely top quality, you can tell by how they lay on thick and shiny, even with just one coat!

Dior Limited Edition Shock Colour Lip Duo in Mysterious Shock and Passion Shock. I love how one side is matte and the other side is metallic, what a perfect marriage!

I'm trying to show the colors but the lighting inside my apartment sucks.

Here's Mysterious Shock.

Here's Passion Shock.

Dior Natural Lip Treatment in Lys Rouge and Diorette. This is the most moisturizing lipstick that I've ever had. It feels like a lip balm but there's so much pigment in it that you won't be mistaken for a lip-gloss smackin' highschool kid. Yes, I was that kid.

Dior Addict It-Lash and Dior Show Liner (not shown) Here's a fun fact for ya... I cut my eyelashes with a pair of scissors back when I was 8 or 9 years old and it just never grew back as long anymore. Let's see if this baby could redeem me from my scissor-happy days.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette I love how this blush set is mixed in with some luminizer so I can easily get that dewy look without having to add one more step to my routine.

Clarisonic Radiance Brush head for my Clarisonic Aria (now known as the Mia 3). If you're vain about skincare as I am, you know you gotta have a Clarisonic! I got the Aria for $199, it's got a hefty price tag but your skin will thank you for it!

I also got my membership upgraded to V.I.B Rouge. You can unlock this status when you purchase a minimum of $1,000 per calendar year, which is probably just peanuts for the real make-up enthusiasts. Anyone with the Rouge status can enjoy perks like access to exclusive events, receive special gifts, free shipping on anything and everything you order from their website and unlimited services (makeovers, consultations) from the Beauty Studio.

When you get upgraded to Rouge, they'll give you a new card with a cute little Bite Beauty lipstick in a shade of red that's made exclusively made for Sephora.

If you've seen me in person, I know you're scratching your head right now. When do I ever wear all this damn make-up? I don't know. I always say, just in case I run into Keanu Reeves! Ha!

Skyler's Black Friday

Pears Be the first to comment!
It may be hard to have this sink into your cranium but... I rarely shop during Black Friday or Thanksgiving weekend. I was in the fashion retail industry for about 8 years and to make the long story short, it just ain't worth it (except for electronics/tech stuff, maybe). Skyler, on the other hand, got himself some great deals and we kinda went nuts at PetSmart. No long lines, no crazy lunatics running across the aisles, no screaming, no scratching each other's eyeballs either.

The Black Friday deal (just for the day) was 50% off on tons of items and luckily, a lot of Sky's favorite treats and toys were on sale!

I bought a couple of things for Bugsy (remember the lion head bunny I rescued?) too but those were mostly just 20% off or regular-priced. Better luck next time, Bugsy!

Here's how much I saved on my purchase! High five, minions!

Now... to hide these treats where this dog-slash-thieving-raccoon can't easily get to.

Toodles! :)

PetSmart: Skyler's Stash

Pears Be the first to comment!
Most of us know that one of the best things about three-day (holiday) weekends in the U.S. is the fact that merchandisers and retailers lure you in with deep discounts and promos. It doesn't only apply to humans, mind you, but also to our beloved pets as well. I, for one, am not complaining since having a pet costs a lot.

Here's a fun fact: Buying Skyler's groceries easily costs two times more than mine---Don't even get me started with the grooming and vet bills!

I signed up for PetSmart's free PetPerks membership and e-mail list so they can easily notify me on any great deals. Skyler and I are lucky enough to have two PetSmart locations close by and best of all, he gets to come and shop around with me!

Buy 2, Get 1 Free on all toys. This offer was hard to pass up since they were doing this promo including the clearance toys. I got Skyler two squeaky ones (which he will probably out-squeak in 2 minutes) that were marked down to $2.09 each (one of which ended up free with the promo), and the Snoopy one (which he will probably decapitate in 30 seconds) was marked down from $12.99 to $9.09

Thank God I snapped the photo right away 'coz someone was apparently eyeing on Snoopy...

I also stocked up on some of his treats, and all of them were discounted!

From Top Left: Purina Pro Plan Savor Hearty Rewards; Dentley's Rawhide Stuff Rolls; Milk-Bone

If you're going to shop this weekend, check your receipt 'coz I got a lot of great coupons on it including $5 off on any grooming services and they have one that's $5 off when you spend $30, $10 off when you spend $50 and $25 off when you spend $100 on your next purchase!

As you can tell, Sky is very excited. Like, so excited...

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend, America!

Death of a Toothbrush

Pears Be the first to comment!
I stumbled while making my way blindly through the dark hallway, trying to get to the room that I dread the most in the morning...the bathroom. Ugh, I have to get ready for work. I picked up my toothbrush and pressed the power button. Hmmm. No buzzing, no movement. Great, I forgot to plug the charger back in---but it was right there, plugged securely to the wall. I smacked it around, hoping to resuscitate my trusty old brush for more than 5 years. No response. I think this is it, the day has come. I pronounced my electric tooth brush technologically dead at 6:05 AM.

Well there's only one thing to do! Do a Target run! Yey :) Yeah, I kinda got over the demise of my old toothbrush quickly, I'm cold as ice.

Obviously it's been years since I've shopped for an electric toothbrush so I was kinda worried that I won't be able to find a sturdy yet affordable one to replace it. My old tooth brush was by Oral B/ Braun, and I loved it. Even the dentists were fooled, they thought I was an enthusiastic cleaner but they didn't know that my tooth brush was doing all the dirty work for me. (yup, pun very much intended)

So I looked through the Oral B/Braun section, hoping I won't have to resort to shelling out $150 for a damn toothbrush.

Well, well, well. What do we have here. Limited Black edition, made by Oral B/Braun, free extra brush head...and only for the price of $39.99! Bingo!

It looks really similar to the previous one that I had but with some extra bells and whistles. This one has a pretty decent-looking travel case included and they added a feature where it shows if the device is charging or when it's running low on battery. And most of all..it's in black!

I.am.a.happy.camper.

Hey on a totally random note, I just discovered this really yummy thing in Costco. It's a blend of cashews, almonds, dried blueberries, dried mangoes, pecans, dried papaya, coconut, sea salt and a bunch of other good stuff.

Sorry for the dirty background, just concentrate on Sky. Ha!

So after I use my new toothbrush, I'm gonna get my teeth all messed up with this fruity nutty goodness! Yum!

If you've never seen a blogger write so ecstatically about a tooth brush, now you have. You're welcome!

Hey troopies! Guess what I got in my inbox today!

ZARA Summer Sale starts ONLINE tonight at midnight Eastern Standard, which means it'll be 10 pm for Pacific Standard Time. Yey! I'm not sure if they go on sale at the same time in stores as well so it's wise to check and call your nearest Zara store before heading down there.

Happy bargain shopping, my minions!

My Stash: Bath and Body Works

Pears Be the first to comment!
Hey folks! Remember my previous post about the upcoming semi-annual sale at Bath and Body Works? Well, I was off from work today so I bee-lined to the mall to see what's up. I'm happy to share with you that I got some pretty good deals and if you have the time, you should head over there to check out them out, too.

I am a sucker for their hand washes and I was able to snag a couple of 'em for a great price! These scents are definitely a must-have!

L-R: Provence Garden, Mediterranean Lemon, Mandarin Citron, Wild Poppies, Peach Bellini, Mango Hibiscus. All of these are $3 (original $6.50) each, except for the Peach Bellini which was priced at $2.50 (original $5.50).

I also got some of the hand washes in the Deep Cleaning version. These were $3 (original $6.50) each as well.

L-R: Mandarin Citron, Caribbean Escape, Provence Garden, Cucumber Melon, Wild Poppies

I stocked up on some cute little anti-bacterial hand gels and I got them at 5 for $5 (original $1.75). I purchased a little bit more than 10 of them but they said that once you hit 5, all the anti-bacs are a dollar each even if it's not an exact group of 5. I also got the True Blue Spa Super Softening Hand Lotion ($18.50 for 5 fl. oz.), their entire collection is buy 2, get 1 free, so I bought two for myself and gave one to my brother. I have to say, this hand lotion is really worth it. You only need a little bit of it and your hands will feel soft and supple right after you apply it on your hands.

L-R: Island Nectar, Perfect Beach Day, Island Margarita, Garden Strawberries, Wild Poppies, True Blue Spa Super Softening Hand Lotion (Paraffin)

They have all sorts of promos in the store like $3 body washes and body lotions, and they have a section that was marked down to 75% off. It really pays to sign up for their email offers because I was able to use my brother's online coupon of $10 off any $40 purchase! So some of my stuff ended up like I got 'em for free...and you know me, I love me some freebies! Hahaha. ;)

If you want to stock up on your favorites or try out their products, this is really the best time to do so!

Hand washes really get me excited! Heck, great bargains always get me excited! Notice all the exclamation points?! Don't worry, I'll calm down in an hour or so. Where's my chamomile?
