The Reluctant Road Tripper : Day 3

Pears
Minnesota

Finally, I got to sleep in! I woke up at around 10 AM, slightly groggy from all that traveling but we have the whole day to do whatever. We bunked in at one of my brother’s friend’s sister (that's right---we got connections, yo.) and she was nothing but the most gracious host. Her cooking was the bomb.com…she bakes/cooks everything from scratch! I’m not necessarily fond of the countryside scene but staying at a well-maintained 105-yr old house that has an amazing view of the lake isn't something that I can compare to living in the city.

Kudos to the hosts who welcomed us to their beautiful home. Charming, isn't it?

Trying to get some tan on my legs while enjoying the great view of the lake on the front porch.

I seriously woke up to fresh batches of bread and cookies and rhubarb pie (beats the smell of burnt microwaveable stuff at my apartment any day!).

I spent the whole afternoon soaking up a little bit of sun (don’t forget your SPF!) and just exploring around the lake.

It was windy out there by the viewing dock and my hair was flying in every direction. It took us probably about 10 minutes to take this shot without having my own hair slapping me silly.

And before we knew it, dusk had come.

I’m glad I got to relax for a day ‘coz we will be on the road again at the crack of dawn. Ugh. I am not a morning person, what more of a DAWN person.

Toodles!
